About Us

The Trust was founded in 2010 by the family and friends of Dr Kunwar Pal Singh, to commemorate his memory and to take forward his dreams and mission. Spearheaded by his wife Dr. Namita Singh and daughter Ms. Sumita Singh, the office of the trust is situated at 28-MIG, Awantika Phase-I, ADA Colony, Ramghat Road, Aligarh.

Prof. K.P. Singh wore several hats – of a much respected academic, renowned writer, a committed social activist, a staunch humanist who worked tirelessly and fearlessly throughout his life to uphold the progressive and secular values.

Prof. Singh served in different capacities in Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), of which he was an alumnus. He was a Professor of Hindi, Dean-Faculty of Arts and Provost of the Non Resident Student Centre of AMU. He was also an elected member of the Academic Council and Executive Council of the University several times. Besides this he was a renowned writer and Social Activist. He was committed throughout his life for these ideals.

To promote his ideas and values of social harmony and secularism in social, literary and cultural spheres, the Trust has been founded in the memory of Prof. K P Singh.

The Aims & Objects

  1. To promote literary and cultural activities of Hindi and other Indian languages.
  2. To promote and buildup an environment for Social harmony, secularism, social justice and scientific temper in society and in literary and cultural field.
  3. To cooperate/ participate with other organizations for environment building for social activities and to organize literary and cultural activities.
  4. To publish literary magazine/ journal/books etc which help in building up an environment for social justice, harmony and secular values.
  5. To establish and run, a public library and research center for students and other citizens.
  6. To establish literary awards/ Honours in the name of prominent literary figures to encourage value based writings in the field of literature and to organise literary, cultural programmes, seminars for this purpose.
  7. To give aid by way of donation out of the income of the corpus of the Trust Fund or otherwise to any ailing literary / cultural / Social activist with the unanimous decision of the managing Trustees.
  8. 8. To establish, maintain or grant aid to homes for the aged, orphanages or other establishments for the relief and help to the poor, needy and destitute, orphans, widows and aged persons.
